Trailer Released for Zombie-Action Film “The Driver” Starring Mark Dacascos!
I’m always interested in seeing how filmmakers try to bring something new to the zombie genre. The Driver, starring Mark Dacascos, can be described as an action-thriller zombie movie featuring lots of car driving.
Lionsgate has released the trailer for The Driver. It’s from action filmmaker Wych Kaosayananda. The upcoming zombie-flick will be released on Digital, On-Demand, and DVD come November 26, 2019. The suggested retail price is $19.98.
The iconic martial arts actor Mark Dacascos stars as the lead. The film is definitely a family affair for Dacascos as the cast includes his real-life wife Julie Condra and daughter Noelani Dacascos. I look forward to seeing what type of chemistry they all share on the screen.
Here’s the trailer!
Here’s the official synopsis for The Driver:
After a plague of the undead decimates human life on earth, a former hit man (Mark Dacascos, John Wick 3), his wife (Julie Condra, “Eerie, Indiana”), and daughter, Bree (Noelani Dacascos, Oh Lucy!), live quietly in a survivalist compound. But when their base is attacked, a massive explosion summons a swarm of the undead. They escape and must seek out the Haven – a rumored sanctuary up north – while the father teaches his daughter to shoot, drive, and survive before time runs out.
I liked seeing Dacascos give Keanu Reeves a tough time in John Wick 3. Dacascos has a very impressive resume and as far as my opinion goes, The Driver does seem interesting. It looks like a zombie-movie that’s going to have a lot of action as well as some emotionally heavy scenes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dacascos’ character ends up sacrificing himself to save his daughter.
Do you think Dacascos’ daughter is interested in doing physically demanding action-sequences like him? We need more action heroines on our screens!
What are your feelings about The Driver and how it handles the zombie genre?
