DC Comics: Awesome Activities For Super Heroes – Book Review
The DC Comics: Awesome Activities For Super Heroes by Sarah Parvis offers more than 150 pages that will keep you busy for hours!
I recently shared the announcement about Downtown Bookworks releasing DC Comics-based titles to celebrate the holidays. One of those new releases is Awesome Activities for Super Heroes by Sarah Parvis. It’s a softcover activity book that has more than 150 pages filled with little activities to keep you or kids busy.
Downtown Bookworks sticks with the retro-style illustrations with this release, too. Seeing all the famous comic book characters in their classic costumes never gets old.
Here’s the official description:
Super heroes-in-training can build their brain power by cracking codes, racing through mazes, solving picture puzzles, designing gadgets, sketching secret lairs, and much more. Classic illustrations of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Supergirl, and other favorite DC characters are featured in more than 100 engaging activities that are guaranteed to entertain—and to hone important skills.
The pages of the book are fully colored which just adds to the enjoyment. There are tons of activities for you to choose from. You can solve puzzles, draw, move through mazes, spot differences in images, and a whole lot more!
Personally, I don’t like writing anything inside books, even activity books. I know people like making little notes when they’re reading a book or they use a highlighter but I’ve never done that to any of my books (academic and others). I just can’t bring myself to!
So, I had to think about a way to deal with my inhibition when reviewing Awesome Activities for Super Heroes. I could take a pen and start filling the book up but then there wouldn’t be many pages for my friends and family, especially the kids, to enjoy.
In the end, I took pictures, allowing some of my family members to have fun with the activities (using a digital pen) while the kids filled out the actual book; taking turns and deciding which page they wanted to do.
The activities aren’t tough to do. This book is recommended for ages 6 and up, but depending on what a child can handle, I think younger kids might enjoy this book, too.
If you’re looking for an activity book that’ll keep kids, and even some grownups, busy with fun, Awesome Activities for Super Heroes is definitely a great choice.
I wonder how long it took Sarah Parvis to make this enjoyable title.
This book will retail for $14.99 US ($16.99 Can). Releasing on October 10, 2017, it’s currently available for pre-order.
