Build Your Own Castlevania Stronghold in “V Rising – Legacy of Castlevania”

Swedish game developer Stunlock Studios and Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) have joined forces! The highly-successful open-world fantasy survival game V Rising will be getting a Castlevania crossover, Legacy of Castlevania, when it fully launches on May 8th on Steam. A PS5 version will be launching later this year.

V Rising has you play as a newly-awakened vampire in a world ruled by humans as you try to rise to become the next Dracula. You must feed on blood in order to gain new powers, hide from the scorching sun, and engage in real-time PvE and PvP combat set in a dark fantasy realm. Invite friends to join in as you raise your castle, go pillaging in nearby villages, skirmish with bandits, and delve into the lairs of supernatural beasts. You can attack other players’ castles or become a diplomat. V Rising is a game of blood, power, and betrayal.

Legacy of Castlevania, meanwhile, sees famed vampire hunter Simon Belmon infiltrate V Rising in order to challenge all vampire kind. With his legendary whip and infamous arsenal of holy weaponry, no vampire is safe from his righteous crusade. If you defeat him, you unlock the secrets of his iconic weapon. This will offer you new combat abilities that “embody the grace and precision of a deadly vampire”.

Legacy of Castlevania, which includes Simon Belmont and the new weapon (his whip), is free. But vampire enthusiasts will be able to purchase the cosmetic DLC Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack for additional content. The premium pack will allow players to construct their own castles inspired by Castlevania’s classic gothic aesthetic. You can decorate your lair, customize characters using options inspired by classic Castlevania characters, and go forth and conquer on your spooky skeletal mount. It even comes with mood music in the form of two classic Castlevania themes reimagined by V Rising composer Aleksandria Migova.

V Rising’s launch on May 8th will follow its fangtastic Early Access period on PC, with more than 3.9M copies sold. It has an impressive 88% positive reviews on Steam.
