With Detective Pikachu very near to its US release date of May 10, 2019, singer and actress Rita Ora has released a music video for the film’s theme song. The “Carry On” music video, performed with DJ Kygo, features some of the numerous Pokemon set to make an appearance in the live-action/CG installment. I want that Gyarados!

Rita Ora isn’t one of the main cast members in Detective Pikachu, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have some more fun in the Pokemon world. The music video shows her in Ryme City as she moves around in places resembling the set pieces from the upcoming movie.

“Carry On” also (quickly) shows many scenes from Detective Pikachu.

Detective Pikachu will open in Japan come May 3, 2019. US fans will have to wait until May 10 to watch Ryan Reynolds voicing Pikachu.

Along with Reynolds, the cast includes Justice Smith as Tim Goodman, a teen who has to team up with Pikachu to find his missing father. They soon meet Lucy, a “sassy journalist” being played by Kathryn Newton.

Ken Watanabe plays an original character named Detective Yoshida. The cast also includes Bill Nighy, Chris Geere, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora, and Omar Chaparro.

The film is based on the Detective Pikachu game for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in Japan back in 2016.

Take note, Legendary Comics will be publishing a graphic novel adaptation of the movie. Brian Buccellato is writing the title with art from Nelson Dániel.

Talking about promotional material, 7-Eleven is currently selling something called the Mr. Mime Mystery Flavor Slurpee.

Interestingly, according to director Rob Letterman, it took him two years to get Mr. Mime in the upcoming film.

As for more Pokemon content, Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is set to release in Japan on July 12, 2019. It will the first-ever completely CG installment in the franchise’s animated movie series.
