Never Let Go, the survival horror movie starring Oscar-winner Halle Berry, will be let go of early in theaters by Lionsgate. Fans can now watch the flick on September 20, 2024, instead of the original September 27, 2024, release date.

Never Let Go sees Berry’s character trying to keep her two sons safe while living in a secluded cabin in the woods. The promo materials have made it clear that there’s something sinister lurking behind the trees. Apparantly, if the characters need to venture out of the cabin, they have to keep themselves attached to a rope connected to the cabin. From what I know, something happens to one of the sons and he starts questioning his mother’s protective nature.

The twin sons are played by Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins.

As a huge fan of Halle Berry, I’m looking forward to watching Never Let Go and I’m excited that I’ll get to do just that basically a week earlier than previously planned.

The new release date puts the movie up against Paramount Animation’s Transformers One and MUBI’s The Substance (a body horror movie starring Demi Moore). Now, while I would have loved for Never Let Go to open at the top of the box office, I highly doubt it will be able to outperform Transformers One.

Directed by Alexandre Aja (Crawl, The Hills Have Eyes) and written by Kevin Coughlin & Ryan Grassby, I have my fingers crossed that it can open north of $20 million. Let’s see what happens next month.

While fans wait, they can watch Berry star opposite Mark Wahlberg in the action comedy The Union hitting Netflix on August 16, 2024. Berry plays Roxxane, a member of The Union who reaches out to her high school love interest Mike (Wahlberg) to handle a dangerous mission.

As for her upcoming projects, Berry told The Hollywood Reporter that she and Angelina Jolie will begin filming the highly-anticipated spy action flick Maude vs Maude next year. Berry is also developing a follow-up to her directorial debut Bruised.

Personally, I would like to see Berry and Jolie co-direct Maude vs Maude.
