Miles Morales, Gwen, and Silk join “Marvel: Future Fight”

mffightupdate

One of Marvel’s most popular RPG games, Marvel: Future Fight has received another major update that brings new characters and changes to the core gameplay experience.

Update 1.8 introduces players to three spider-themed characters from the pages of Marvel comic books. If you are a fan of Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales, and Silk then this update will surely make you excited. At first I thought the three new characters were going to be new skins for Spider-Man but I was proven wrong. Miles, Gwen and Silk are individual characters in their own right and have unique powers to have fun in the game with. I’ve already unlocked all three of them. It was an easy task because all they need are 10 ‘Speed Biometrics’ each to unlock. You can’t find their Biometric during Story Mode just yet, so you’ll have to either buy a Dimension Chest or use a Biometric Selector. The Biometrics for unlocking Miles is also being given for free as a daily login gift. All three characters have abilities which completely wrap opponents in web. That’s why it is a good strategy to equip your heroes with web resistant gear in case you fight these three during Timeline Battles.

Another major update is the decrease in the skill level cap from 60 to just 6. This means that you can max out skills faster. I’m not sure how this change will affect the gameplay in the long run, but for now it is a good addition that doesn’t make you use a lot of in-game currency to strengthen your characters. Character gear will also improve as your hero or villain levels up.

The Daily and Bonus missions have been merged for a more simplified user experience. Dimension rifts can also be opened at will. And the improvement I liked is the ability to select the Villain Siege stages you want to play instead of starting all over again daily. Future Fight has also been made more social through the inclusion of the live chat feature. Now you can communicate with other players, or your Alliance Members, from around the world while you play.

As with every other Future Fight update, new character skins have also been introduced, influenced by the “All-New, All-Different” Marvel launch. Characters like Hulk, Gamora, and Rocket Raccoon have gone through a revamp for better gameplay experience during battle.

While I enjoy playing Future Fight, I can’t help but feel that it is high time the X-Men get introduced. There are more than 60 playable characters but not a single one is a mutant. They didn’t even introduce Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver when they promoted Avengers: Age of Ultron in-game. The exclusion of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four from the game is only fueling rumors about the possible quarrel between Marvel and Fox.

Have you played Marvel: Future Fight yet? Are you excited about the up-coming Christmas themed update? Or are you waiting for the X-Men to be introduced? Let us know!
