Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” Gets Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Release Dates

Guillermo del Toro’s cinematic masterpiece The Shape of Water will be made available digitally on Movies Anywhere beginning February 27, 2018, and then on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 13, 2018!

Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water has been received warmly by both critics and the general audience. Now, fans can go ahead and own it digitally on February 27, 2018. The film will also be available for purchase on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 13, 2018.

Here’s the official synopsis:

From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER, an otherworldly fairy tale set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America circa 1962. In the hidden, high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

The Shape of Water is nominated for a total of 13 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Actor Richard Jenkins is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for playing Giles, a queer character who offers a lot of help to the female lead.

Let’s see if the film is able to win some awards when the 90th Academy Awards air on March 4, 2018. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

It has already won in the Best Director and Best Original Score categories at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.
