Amplified Games Ltd and Posh Cat Studio are ready to launch Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game on PC (Steam) early next week come Tuesday 9, 2025.

Even though there are tons of cozy games out there, with a majority of them focusing on farming and other kinds of item collection, there are times when you want to enjoy something different. Frankly, I wasn’t aware of the cozy game genre featuring a mystery-solving component. I know some titles include a mystery-solving mechanic, but said kind of gameplay isn’t the focus. That’s why Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game stands out in comparison. In this indie offering, you take on the role of a young girl, named Mary, who has to solve mundane problems to help her friends and others around her.

Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game serves as the debut of the indie Posh Cat Studio, a female-led Indonesian developer. The team’s been a fan of the detective genre with an interest in Lovecraftian horror. Surprisingly, the upcoming game began as an investigative murder mystery. But the team realized being immersed in dark themes and crime might not be the best for their mental health. And so the project pivoted to something quite different.

Melisa, Lead Developer and Founder at Posh Cat Studio, shared, “We turned to cozy games and cute pictures to escape the blood and gore. Little Problems was born out of a love for wholesome, safe, and approachable content, but still with a passion for investigation and detection.”

The gameplay, as stated in the title, is about solving mysteries based on minor conveniences and daily misunderstandings. You will be figuring out issues to connect with friends and appreciating the simplicities of life. According to the dev team, this game isn’t about saving the world. It’s about “enriching it”, by addressing one little problem at a time.

As Mary, a university freshman student, you will be tasked with remembering the location for a study group, finding a missing earring, figuring out the nicknames of other students, and the like. It’s all about minor seluthing and resolution.

Here’s the adorable trailer!

I do like the art style showcased in the trailer. Everything comes across as a cute visual novel. Judging by the screenshot before you press play, I’m assuming one of the mystery cases will involve trying to find the person who took a bite out of a tasty cupcake.

Also, having gone over the promo images shared with me, other problems seem to include one where you have to help a local music concert select people deserving of a Group Discount. You will also, apparantly, find a missing cat.

The point-and-click gameplay mechanic seems to involve pinpointing Suspects and selecting the right words to fill in Notes (which can be in the form of sentences as well as lists).

You can go ahead and Wishlist the game right now on Steam.
