Indie Games To Keep An Eye Out For In 2019!

With 2019 just around the corner, there are a number of indie games I want to put on your radar. The titles include Control, Indivisible, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and more.

Of course, I will be sharing as much coverage I can of the titles I mention. I might even review some of them. Until then, here is the list!

Control

From Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games, I am looking forward to this title.

Players in Control will tackle The Oldest House, the headquarters of the cagey Federal Bureau of Control, a secret government agency that’s become embroiled in a conflict with strange invades known as the Hiss. True to Remedy Entertainment’s roots, players will navigate gritty environments in a third-person perspective, utilizing several unique powers to progress through mind-bending puzzles and action, such as moving walls and floating bodies.

Control will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Journey to the Savage Planet

This one is from Typhoon Studios and 505 Games.

Journey to the Savage Planet (JTTSP) is the debut title from the Montreal-based Typhoon Studios, and developed by industry veterans Alex Hutchinson, Yassine Riahi and Reid Schneider. JTTSP is an upbeat, first-person adventure game set in a bright and vibrant alien world filled with weird, wonderful and unknown creatures. As an employee of Kindred Aerospace, the “fourth best” interstellar exploration company, players will be dropped onto an uncharted planet to explore, catalogue alien life and determine if the planet is fit for human habitation.

It will launch sometime in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

By ArtPlay, Inc. and 505 Games, this “2.5D action-adventure RPG” is from legendary game designer Koji Igarashi (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night).

An intense 2.5D action-adventure RPG from legendary game designer Koji Igarashi (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night). Players lead Miriam, an orphan cursed by a dastardly alchemist, through a haunting gothic castle, battling formidable demons and collecting items to craft deadly weapons to slay the hellish alchemist, Gebel.

I have played the demo and it is good.

Indivisible

From Lab Zero Games and 505 Games, this is another game I’m very interested in playing.

Good-natured tomboy Anja’s life is through into chaos when her town is attacked, awakening a mysterious power – the ability to absorb others into her being. From the creative team behind Skullgirls, Indivisible is a gorgeous, hand drawn platformer-RPG that explores a diverse world full of culture, exploration and danger.

I have played the demo of Indivisible and I’m all for it!

Splitgate: Area Warfare

By 1047 Games, this is a “high-octane inspired mashup” of Halo and Portal.

Splitgate is a high-octane inspired mashup of two of the most influential first-person shooter games of all time, Halo and Portal. What more can you ask for? While the concept seems insane; the fast-paced, frenetic shooting gameplay meshes seamlessly with the unique portal mechanic that throws traditional FPS strategies and conventions out the window. Splitgate has an opportunity to revolutionize the FPS genre similar to how Quake did in the 90s.

Splitgate will launch on PC in 2019.
