Boruto: Naruto Next Generations 1×95 Review: Tactics for Getting Along with your Daughter

This week’s episode of the Boruto anime has to be one of the best fillers yet. ‘Tactics for Getting Along with your Daughter’ focused on Sasuke trying to connect with Salad. The entire episode was full of comedic moments and offered some well-written development between the two characters.

Fans of the Naruto franchise know the troubling childhood Sasuke experienced. Sasuke is someone who requires a lot of emotional growth when it comes to connecting with others. While Naruto and Sakura were able to get to him (after a lot of effort), Salad and Sasuke still have work to do on strengthening their father-daughter relationship.

‘Tactics for Getting Along with your Daughter’ focused on the two characters as they tried to figure out how to get along. Salad isn’t used to seeing Sasuke’s normal side and vice versa. It was hilarious to watch Sasuke being awkward while trying to connect with his daughter. I couldn’t stop laughing when he offered to buy Salad a red candy because he thought it was her favorite color. He also kneeled to offer her a piggyback ride after watching Naruto give one to Himawari. It was amazing!

Kakashi offered some advice to Sasuke and of course, it backfired. You could tell Kakashi was messing with him. Again, ‘Tactics for Getting Along with your Daughter’ was full of comedic moments.

I liked how Sakura ended up being the one who helped Sasuke reach out to their daughter. Even though the origin of Sakura and Sasuke’s relationship is problematic, the two have figured out how to make the most out of the situation they are in.

Taking Sakura’s advice, Sasuke connected with Salad by praising her goal to become the Hokage and letting her know he will always be there to support her. It was a well-written moment which used memories from Sasuke’s past to show why the powerful ninja is the way he is and how he is trying to improve for the sake of his daughter.

‘Tactics for Getting Along with your Daughter’ concluded with a montage featuring the young ninjas spending quality time with their parents.

I greatly enjoyed this filler. Here’s to hoping the upcoming arcs are fun to watch, too.
