Otaku Unite! ReedPop’s Virtual Anime Week Starts March 28

Anime Week

ReedPop, the company behind conventions like New York Comic Con and MCM Comic Con, has something special prepared for all you anime and manga nerds. The first ever Anime Week will be held from March 28-April 3, 2021, with a bevy of content that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home, especially if you’re a fan of Naruto, Pokémon, or My Hero Academia.

I think we’re all hoping for a return to some semblance of normalcy at some point in 2021, but in the mean time, there is still a pandemic going on, and convention organizers remain committed to putting out content, even if we can’t enjoy it in person. ReedPop in particular has been hosting mini-events every few months, and not just to correspond with their “regular” cons. With that in mind, they are launching Anime Week on Sunday, March 28, a free online event featuring panels, fan meetups, new merchandise, special premieres, and more.

Panels will be free to stream on the official Find the Metaverse website for a limited time (30 days after they first air). They include a Q&A with the English voice cast of My Hero Academia, a reunion with the English voice cast of Naruto, a Pokémon 25th anniversary panel featuring the original cast, fan trivia, Spirited Away yoga, and tutorial sessions for cosplay, Gunpla, and manga drawing.

If panels aren’t your thing (or if panels are your thing, but you’re hoping for a little bit more), there are other ways to join in the fun! Join the ReedPop official Discord to participate in fan meetups, watch parties, and the cosplay showcase. Check out the shop for some awesome merch. Peruse the specially curated selection of manga and related books hosted by Bookshop (ordering through there helps support independent bookstores!).
