The fast-paced action RPG The Lonesome Guild will officially launch on October 23, 2025, for PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

With the release date being announced by DON’T NOD, The Lonesome Guild has been created by Tiny Bull Studios. The announcement was accompanied by a new story trailer to offer a look at what players can expect as they control a group of misfits traversing the magical and dangerous realm of Etere.

The fictional world in the upcoming video game is a realm threatened by loneliness. There’s a creeping fog that has been corrupting everything in its path as it spreads. You end up controlling a team of six misfits tasked with protecting the world. And yes, the characters are weapon-wielding animals. Cute but deadly!

Of course, as expected from such RPG projects, each character has their unique skills, stories, and challenges. The gameplay mechanic emphasizes character relationships. You will need to forge connections to unlock powerful combos as well as “poignant” moments around the campfire. The fast-paced action gameplay will also offer puzzle-solving and a way to unravel the world’s numerous secrets.

Here’s the exciting trailer!

The Lonesome Guild – Story Trailer

Going through what’s shown in the story trailer, apparantly, the last ascension failed, and this time no new God will rise. The mysterious creeping fog corrupts the souls of everyone it touches, transforming them into monster-like beings (from the look of things). A tiny ghost serves as a spark needed to find and bring together a team to fight the fog.

I do like the art style and how seamless the combat appears to be. You can switch between any character you want while playing. As mentioned, relationships play an important role. You begin as an Acquaintance, leveling up to Companion, Friend, and Best Friend, with each level unlocking new skills and traits. The ghost character seems capable of fusing with the rest of the fighters. There’s also some kind of ghost-specific special attack to deal massive damage to enemies.

Chatting with team members will also unlock side missions.

For those interested, a demo is currently available over on Steam. You can also add the title to your Wishlist before the October 23, 2025, launch date.

The art style and gameplay have me intrigued. I just might end up playing and reviewing this indie project. Hmmm. Let’s see.

DON’T NOD is an indie French publisher and developer with studios in Paris and Montréal, developing narrative games in the Adventure (Life is Strange, Tell Me Why, Twin Mirror), RPG (Vampyr, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden), and action (Remember Me) genres.

DON’T NOD also develops and publishes its own IPs, such as Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, Jusant, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

As for Tiny Bull Studios, it’s a Turin-based independent Italian game development studio that aims to create unique and immersive experiences across a variety of genres.
