Check Out a Q&A with Chloe Bennet of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Some of the stars from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were on hand at Paleyfest New York this past weekend. The Geekiary caught up with Chloe Bennet, who plays Skye, computer hacker with a troubled past, for a Q&A. Read on to hear her thoughts on Skye’s worst fears, the impact of having Agent Melinda May as her S.O., and the S.H.I.E.L.D. family.
Dot: The only family Skye has ever known is S.H.I.E.L.D. She’s really in now, she’s part of the team — what do you think she’s most afraid of?
Chloe Bennet: I think she has a confidence about her that she’s joined this family and I think what she’s most afraid of is losing that. But the second she joins S.H.I.E.L.D., it goes to sh**, so she’s kind of lost it in a sense. She’s got a thick skin; I think what she’s most afraid of would be losing them.
Dot: Regarding Ward, is Skye still carrying a lot of hurt around? Is there something strategically she would like to accomplish with him?
CB: With May as her S.O., that she has really internalized those emotions and that betrayal and put that energy towards work and being a better field agent. Obviously, I think deep down[…]to find out about the alien writing, I think she’s kind of accepted her new family; it’s personal to her finding her parents, finding out her history about what happened, and that’s sort of balanced with her feelings towards Coulson and her new family/
Dot: Is there any situation you’re hoping to see Skye have to deal with?
CB: I want her to get some action…like some sex….everything else’s she’s pretty much gotten from different directions, but that’s probably the one thing she hasn’t in a really long time.
Dot: Thank you!
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs 9/8c on ABC. Got any theories about Skye’s past? Happy that Agent May is now Skye’s mentor? Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.
