505 Games has announced a partnership with Rabbit & Bear Studios to publish the Tokyo-based studios’ upcoming JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes promises to offer plays a unique setting, carefully crafted storyline, and a massive cast of characters. The upcoming title is said to be a celebration of the JRPG genre readily associated with studio lead Yoshitaka Murayama (Suikoden I & II) and director Osamu Komuta.

We have dreamed of developing a game for genre fans for many years which also celebrates everything we love and have learned as game designers,” shared Yoshitaka Murayama said. “Our team is looking forward to working with 505 Games to bring our first of hopefully many games, Eiyuden Chronicle, to fans around the world.”

For those who might not know, Eiyuden Chronicle announced a Kickstarter campaign back in July of 2020. Impressively, it surpassed the funding goal on the first day and went on to have the most successful video game campaign on Kickstarter in 2020.

As for the gameplay and visuals, the title will feature a traditional 6-character battle system with 2D sprites and 3D backgrounds. Murayama wrote the story.

Eiyuden Chronicle is both a throwback to the classic RPG games that have entertained millions and a modern, exciting tale of discovery and adventure featuring a cast of hundreds of fully realized characters,” said Yoshitaka Murayama. “Given 505 Games’ success and history with titles like Bloodstained and Death Stranding and with the strong personal relationship we have developed with the people there, we feel we have the perfect partner.”

The video below shows what the game will look like.

As for Rabbit & Bear Studios, it’s a collective of creators and designers who have worked on a number of famous Japanese games. The team includes Yoshitaka Murayama, Osamu Komuta, Junko Kawano, Junichi Murakami, with Michiko Naruke and Motoi Sakuraba as production staff. Rabbit & Beat is located in Tokyo Japan. Eiyuden Chronicle is the studio’s first title. Make sure to visit the studio’s official website. Here’s the Discord channel.

I have covered titles from 505 Games on this website. The company has published Death Stranding, Control (read our review), Journey to the Savage Planet, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Indivisible (read our review), and more.

I’m a fan of the RPG genre. From what I have seen in the promo content and the team involved, of course, I’m looking forward to playing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
