A whole lot of video game news has been shared due to the “Future Game Show” and “Steam Next Fest”. So, I’m taking a moment to let you know about SteamWorld Build, Laika: Aged Through Blood, and The Last Alchemist.

Let’s begin by talking about SteamWorld Build. From Thunderful and internal development studio The Station, the upcoming SteamWorld Build is scheduled to be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2023. A new trailer was showcased during the Future Game Show. A demo of the game will be available for fans between June 19 – 26, 2023, during Steam Next Fest.

As the name states, SteamWorld Build allows players to build cities. You will be tasked with ensuring your town thrives while also dealing with monsters below ground. Of course, mining resources is also part of the gameplay mechanic. Being part of the popular SteamWorld IP, the residents of your town will be steambots. You will need to keep them fed and entertained. From what I could understand, the goal is to expand your town, find more resources, and ultimately help your residents to escape the planet.

The response to SteamWorld Build from our fans and critics has been fantastic so far,” shared SteamWorld Universe and Franchise Director, Brjánn Sigurgeirsson. “It’s a pleasure to give fans another look at the game and we’ll be sharing more via our community-focused SteamWorld Telegraph show, which recently kicked back into gear.”

Here’s the fun trailer!

You can download the demo via Steam.

Laika Aged Through Blood game 2023

Still talking about Thunderful, indie developer Brainwash Gang got the word out for Laika: Aged Through Blood. Debuting at the Future Game Show, the trailer was all about highlighting the motorbike-bound movement, combat mechanics, and the hand-painted visuals players can look forward to enjoying.

Laika: Aged Through Blood will be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.

In this western-inspired action-adventure title, you will be tasked with racing your way through a hazardous post-apocalyptic wasteland while performing dangerous stunts and shooting enemies. The gameplay includes power-ups to help you face a variety of challenges.

The narrative includes learning about the tale of a tribe being oppressed by vicious occupant forces. The lead character is a coyote rider named Laika who rides on the path of vengeance to take back what her people lost.

Here’s the trailer!

Going by the trailer, I really like the visuals and the soundtrack. The “slow-mo” mechanic really makes the action look very cool. Laika really is a badass!

A demo for the game will be available via Steam on June 19, 2023.

You can Wishlist it on Steam right now, if you want to.

The Last Alchemist Game

The third game I want to talk about is The Last Alchemist by Marvelous Europe and Vile Monarch. It too will have a demo come June 19-26, 2023, at Steam Next Fest.

Players will get to explore a vibrant world as they build their workshop, practice alchemy by solving puzzles, and befriend the mushroom-like Agari folk. Apparently, the lead character has a mysterious disease. And your goal is to learn more about the world and its residents to find a cure.

I really like the visual choice. And the Agari folk are cute! The overall vibe is quite cozy.

The Last Alchemist will launch sometime this year for Windows PC. You can currently Wishlist it.

Personally, I’m interested in checking out all three titles I have mentioned.

Which ones are you interested in playing?
