The Legend of Korra “Book 4: Balance” Predictions!

sdfghj

The Legend of Korra fans won’t have to wait a year for Book 4 because it will be debut October 3rd! That only leaves us with a few more weeks to prepare ourselves for the final book in this amazing series. After the events of Book 3, here are some of my predictions for the final installment!

Book 3 was titled “Change”, and rightfully so. After opening the spirit portals at the end of Book 2 a lot of things changed for the world. One of the biggest changes was the emergence of new airbenders, and a lot of people, especially ‘The Red Lotus’, deciding that the Avatar wasn’t needed anymore. I have been a fan of the series since The Last Airbender days. While Aang’s journey was about resurrection, Korra’s dealt with preservation, and it was amazing to watch. We saw her grow from a stubborn teenager to a mature and wise young woman.

The title of Book 4 was revealed through Nickelodeon’s official twitter. It will be called “Balance”. The moment I saw the title my mind started to come up with theories regarding what will happen in the last chapter of Korra’s adventure.

Different Korra

The last time we saw the protagonist she was in a wheel chair recovering from physical, mental, and spiritual damage done by Zaheer. Her new 10659147_295534750630333_7806520774898777025_nlook shows her ready to fight, and sporting a different hairstyle. I am glad that Korra is back on her feet. However, after everything that has happened in the previous books, I think we won’t be seeing Book 2 Korra ever again. I also think that during her recovery she will find a way to reconnect with the past Avatars.

After showing Zaheer’s ability to fly, it would be unfair on the writers’ part to not give Korra such a power. There seems to be a pattern throughout the books. In Book 1 she learned how to airbend, in Book 2 she could spirit bend, and in Book 3 she was able to metalbend. I think she will learn how to fly in Book 4.

As far as her romantic relationships are concerned, I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers don’t touch the romantic aspect of the story until the epilogue portion of Book 4. One of the things that made Book 3 enjoyable was the fact it didn’t focus on romantic drama. I think the writers will keep with the pattern.

The Fire Nation

Zuko was introduced in Book 3, and I think we will finally get to see the Fire Nation in Book 4. His daughter was mentioned as the new Fire Lord and I can’t wait to see how she runs things. There’s a high chance most of the events of the new book might end up occurring in the Fire Nation.

World War Avatar

I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of The Red Lotus. It was mentioned in the Book 3 finale that there were other members scattered around the world. Because the name of the new book is titled “Balance” it gives the message that there is some sort of harmony in the world. I don’t think the antagonists are going to let such harmony exist without putting up a fight. That’s why I think there’s going to be a huge battle in the finale before Korra is finally able to bring peace.

Reunion

The biggest disappointment in Book 3 was the exclusion of Katara, my favorite character from the whole Avatar series. I was looking forward to her reunion with Zuko. I think, or I hope, the writers deliberately didn’t let them meet each other and are saving it for the final book. Fans of The Last Airbender are too invested in the series for nostalgic reasons. I think the writers will give them a big reunion, one that will include Tophand a cameo from Aang, in the final book.
