Van Helsing Gets Even More Bloody at SDCC 2018

Van Helsing has easily become one of my favorite shows. Maybe it is because of the twist on the classic vampire mythology, perhaps it is the amazing cast, or it could even be that it is one of the boldest and darkest shows on TV. Even though it is definitely a mix of all three, I was so excited to attend the panel and press room at San Diego Comic-Con this year and get some teasers about what is ahead for season three.

If you’re not familiar with the show, go watch it. Seriously. I’ll try not to give away too many spoilers about what happened in season two (because it was a LOT!), but it is one of the most intense and bloody shows in Syfy’s lineup, and it also happens to feature a female lead. And season three appears to get even more female with more backstory on Ivory and the Sisterhood, more focus on the Vanessa/Scarlet dynamic, and even a possible lesbian relationship.

Not only were fans at the panel given some sneak peeks into season three (including a full action sequence that was….incredible), but we were also treated to the full season three trailer. Changes are definitely ahead for Vanessa and the rest of the crew, and it looks like we are about to meet even more types of vampires. We also learned that castmember Jonathan Scarfe is back directing a whopping three episodes next season (I personally found his directorial debut in the series, “Be True”, from season two to be my favorite episode in the entire series). Season three is stacking up to be the most bloody of them all!

Below is the full playlist of our Van Helsing press room footage from San Diego Comic-Con 2018.
