“Will & Grace” Being Brought Back by NBC For a Limited 10-Episode Run!

Will and Grace Reunion Will & Grace

It’s official: NBC is bringing back Will & Grace for a 10-episode limited run!

There’s no expected air date yet, but everyone is coming back for the limited 10-episode series of Will & Grace, and a fall premiere sounds like a safe bet. Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally all shared their excitement on Twitter.

Creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are on board too, serving as showrunners and executive producers. James Burrows, the director of the original eight seasons, is back as well. Furthermore, he is also credited as an executive producer.

We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt. “This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs.

Fans have expected a revival ever since the 2016 election episode, and it’s awesome that we’re getting our wish! My whole family watched Will & Grace – we’re big fans and we’re excited for the show’s return. One can never have enough of Jack and Karen!

We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons,” said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke. “Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and ‘Will and Grace’ is one of the best.

Dave and I are absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to write what Will, Grace, Jack and Karen are thinking about in 2017,” said Max Mutchnick.

Will & Grace premiered in 1998 on NBC. It aired for eight seasons and won multiple Emmy awards. Universal Television will produce and distribute the new episodes.
