CultureFly Winter 2024 Star Wars Galaxy Box “Life Day” Theme – Review

The Star Wars Galaxy Box for Winter 2024 from CultureFly brought the 2024 line to an end by celebrating Life Day. The box contained five items, three of which I will be using.

For those who might not know, Life Day is a holiday from Wookiee culture that is all about celebrating family, joy, and harmony. It’s traditionally celebrated at the Tree of Life. The holiday has spread across the galaxy, with it basically becoming the Star Wars version of Christmas and, in a way, New Year.

Sticking to the Life Day theme, the items featured in the Star Wars Galaxy Box for Winter 2024 had art portraying iconic characters celebrating the holiday. And with it being a Winter Box, the wearables were about keeping you cozy.

The box made use of off-white and red with the top featuring an image of a group of Wookiees celebrating Life Day. One of the sides had an image of a small Wookiee offering the Life Day orb to Darth Vader while the other side had an image of a Mandalorian. The bottom of the box had the words, “It binds the galaxy together.” Lifting the lid to reveal the contents, you will see the words “Life Day” and “It binds the galaxy together”.  

The first licensed item I took out of the box was the Acrylic Wall Art. Measuring approximately 8 inches in diameter, the circular art piece featured Chewbacca, Luke, Leia, Yoda, C-3PO, and R2-D2 celebrating the holiday together. I liked how the characters were on a different layer on the circular base to give the art piece some dimension. The back of the item had the licensing information and a plastic piece to help you hang the art.

Frankly, I’m not the biggest fan of such art pieces. But I can see certain fans liking this one.

The second item was a pair of fuzzy socks fashioned after Wookiee feet. They felt soft to the touch and I’m definitely wearing them this winter.

The third item was my favorite. I really liked the Life Day-themed blanket. I appreciated how it featured completely different artwork than the acrylic wall art piece, showcasing all those characters as well as Han Solo with the Tree of Life behind them. The top of the blanket had the words “Family. Joy. Harmony”.

The blanket came in at approximately 5×4 feet. So, that’s a good size to cover yourself with (which I did!).

As for the two-backed enamel pin, it had Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. I was kind of surprised how the approximately 2-inch pin didn’t relate to the Life Day theme. I think the artwork of Darth Vader and the little Wookiee on the side of the box would have been a better choice to fashion the pin after. But oh well.

Coming to the fifth and final item, we had the grey-ish zip-up hoodie. It had the words “Life Day” at the front, to the left. The long sleeves and the bottom of the hoodie had elastic to help ward off some of the cold air from getting in. The back of the hoodie had the artwork featuring a bunch of Wookiees celebrating the holiday.

Now, while I liked receiving three wearable items from a single box, I do think the box could have contained one more item. It could have been a “filler” item like a sticker sheet or a postcard. But yeah, only getting five items felt a bit underwhelming.

Anyway, we have come to an end for the 2024 offerings. The CultureFly Star Wars Galaxy Box for Winter 2024 included five officially licensed and exclusive products themed after Life Day.
