Utomik Review – Think Of It As Netflix But For Gamers
I talked about Utomik about a month ago. It’s a monthly subscription service, similar to Netflix, but geared toward gamers. With currently more than 700 games, you can get access to the entire library for $5.99 a month!
I was provided 1-month access to Utomik. The opinions are my own.
The gaming world sure is a huge one, and a lot of times some awesome games don’t get the attention they deserve. Utomik serves as a platform that not only highlights famous games, but also some awesome indie gems that are worthy of your attention.
Also, you might have wanted to play a game when it came out, decided to wait for it to go on sale, and then completely forgot about it. Well, that leads to another thing I like about Utomik. It reintroduced me to a number of past titles I wanted to enjoy but didn’t because I simply forgot to buy them. Furthermore, I was able to replay certain games which I used to own years ago but lost physical disc copies of.
Using Utomik is very easy. After the installation process, you can browse through the library. The homepage is divided into categories such as New, FPS (First Person Shooter), Adventure, Open World, etc. You can also search for a specific game. There’s also a little notification bell you can use to know about the latest additions and other Utomik-related news. The ‘Coming Soon’ category showcases gaming titles to which Utomik will be offering access soon. There are also forums you can join to connect with other Utomik users. Your profile will list all of the games you’ve downloaded or are interested in.
Another thing I really liked about Utomik is that you don’t have to wait for the entire game to download. You can start playing as soon as the required amount of data to begin a game has been downloaded. The remaining data will continue being downloaded in the background while you play. It’s awesome!
Now, for $5.99 a month, of course, you won’t be getting the latest big-name games. However, you do get some famous titles from 2017 and before. You’ll get to see titles from franchises such as Batman, Telltale Games, Star Wars, LEGO, etc.
As for the more recent games that are available, those are the indie ones. If there’s a new indie game you’ve been meaning to check out, chances are it’s being offered by this subscription service.
Everyone has different tastes when it comes to the kind of games they like. That’s why I recommend that you try this service out because you might just find titles that really interest you. Utomik does have a 14-day Free Trial. So, you can opt for the trial or just go ahead and pay $5.99/month to see if this subscription service is something you want to continue using.
