Kodansha and InkyPen Bring Manga to Your Switch

InkyPen

InkyPen, the all-you-can-read comic subscription service, has teamed up with Kodansha USA Publishing to bring many of manga’s top titles to your Nintendo Switch! Starting today, you can read Kodansha Comics and VERTICAL manga on demand on your Switch.

InkyPen launched in the Nintendo eShop in December 2018, not long after popular apps like Hulu and YouTube. It offers a wide variety of diverse titles from top comic publishers such as IDW, Dark Horse, Archie Comics and Valiant. But until now, manga was not among its catalog – which contains hundreds of series and over 10,000 comics – and was the top requested addition from the app’s subscribers.

“Our readers wanted manga and we listened and there’s simply no bigger and better manga publisher than Kodansha.” says Ronan Huggard, InkyPen CEO.

“We’re thrilled to further bring the Kodansha Comics & VERTICAL library into the digital space through InkyPen’s digital subscriptions service,” said Alvin Lu, Kodansha USA Publishing President and CEO. “We’re excited for not only InkyPen readers, but also Nintendo Switch users to have easy access to a growing number of Kodansha USA Publishing titles through this all-you-can-read service.”

InkyPen

The InkyPen app is free to download from the Nintendo Switch eShop and has a number of free titles to enjoy, or you can subscribe to the all-you-can-read service for $7.99 a month. Now, among popular titles like Archie, Locke & Key, Hellboy, and Bloodshot can be read alongside big-name manga series like Attack on Titan and Fire Force.

You can check out their entire catalog here.

Kodansha USA Publishing is the number two manga publisher in the United States and publishes some of the world’s most well-known manga series like Attack on Titan, Parasyte, Battle Angel Alita, and FAIRY TAIL, among others. All of these titles are now available on the app, with new releases being added regularly.

InkyPen’s next goal, now that manga has been added to its service, is to expand to other platforms. So it seems like the perfect time to check the service out!
