Grim Action RPG “Drova – Forsaken Kin” Gets All Systems Launch This October!
Deck13 Spotlight and Just2D have announced that their action RPG Drova – Forsaken Kin will get an all-systems release come October 15, 2024. The upcoming game has been described as a dark fantasy set in the mystic Celtic world.
Drova – Forsaken Kin will be available to players on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
The title is supposed to provide 40 hours of story-driven gameplay as players try to survive the dangerous world of Drova, a place claimed to be paradise but is anything but a Utopia.
The gameplay mechanic involves a “brutal combat system” that incorporates a variety of weapon classes and magic. You will need to join one of the two factions as you try to uncover mysteries linked to a layered past. Apparantly, you are supposed to trust no one.
Also, you need to prepare yourself to experience a whole lot of defeat. But of course, you will continue to grow stronger with every battle (won or lost). The skill tree seems to include Sword, Spear, Ax, Daggers, Shield, Slingshot, and Bow. I could be wrong, but I think your character should be able to switch between the skills at will depending on the type of challenge being faced.
Drova – Forsaken Kin spent more than six years in development, with the title being playable during Gamescon 2014 on the PC and the Nintendo Switch.
Here’s the release date trailer!
I do like the hard-drawn art and the pixel style. Judging from the promotional content, the overall vibe is giving me early Diablo (a game I’m a fan of).
Also, and I’m assuming here so don’t quote me or anything, but I like how this looks like an RPG that offers flexibility when it comes to how you play. Apparantly, your character can use weapons and magic instead of selecting a particular class and sticking with it throughout the story.
