“Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid” eSports League Beginning This Month!
The Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid game continues to be an impressive success. And in a very exciting move, the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League has been announced. Who will be crowned the best player? I can’t wait to find out.
The announcement for the league was made by nWay, in partnership with Hasbro, Inc. and Lionsgate. Beginning this month, nWay will be teaming up with local fighting game communities to discover the best player in the country.
For those of you wondering how it will all work, I’ve got you!
According to the shared press release, “participants in the League will accumulate Grid Points by competing in a series of sanctioned community-driven offline and online events, as well as through Episodes, which are in-game challenges where players compete in matches and earn medals to climb the leaderboard ranks.”
The sanctioned community-organized events include online tournaments as well as local events in multiple states. Of course, prizes will be awarded.
Take note; the seven players who have the highest Grid Points at the end of the season, along with the winner of a last chance qualifier tournament, will all get an invitation to compete for the chance to be crowned the first-ever Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League Champion in the series finale that will be held at Evolution 2020 in Las Vegas this August.
Yes, PR: Battle for the Grid made it to Evo 2020. Welcome to the big leagues!
The planned stops are at the following fighting game majors:
- Frosty Faustings (January 17-18, Chicago)
