The cozy life sim Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be making it’s way to the Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam come January 30, 2025. Are you ready to help Hello Kitty complete a bunch of missions and reconnect with friends?

Pre-orders are currently open for the award-winning Hello Kitty Island Adventure. The game was developed by Sunblink and Sanrio. A PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 release is planned for later this year after the game is available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on January 30, 2025.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure was nominated for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2023 and won a Webby People’s Voice Award. It first launched exclusively via Apple Arcade. The reception led to it winning the Apple Arcade Game of the Year award.

Julian Farrior, CEO and founder of Sunblink, talked about how players enjoyed being part of a world that focused on friendship and kindness. The game’s about allowing people to “explore a charming world with your friends.” The team is excited to see the “kindness, inclusion, and good vibes” of Hello Kitty Island Adventure being shared with more people.

Craig Takiguchi, Chief Operating Officer at Sanrio Inc., shared a similar statement, talking about the long-running and globally popular Hello Kitty IP bringing people together to promote a sense of joy and connection across various mediums.

Talking about the gameplay, you get to join Hello Kitty and her friends at Big Adventures Park. There’s excitement surrounding My Melody opening a new gift shop. However, things aren’t what they seem and you will soon find yourself exploring the abandoned park and finding lost friends. The goal is to restore the island and get the desolate theme park back to it’s former glory.

Here’s the colorful trailer!

The Key Features include:

  • Explore a Massive World – Apparantly, the game features more than 100 hours of adventure content across distinct biomes. There’s Kuromi’s haunted mansion in the Spooky Swamp, the fiery Mount Hothead, Merry Meadows, the underwater Rainbow Reef, and so much more.
  • Be Who You Want – You get to create your own original Sanrio-style avatar with a wide range of character customization options.
  • Craft, Create, Collect – The crafting and creation system includes baking delicious recipes with Hello Kitty, brewing magic potions with Kuromi, collecting critters with Keroppi, learning to fish from Badtz-maru, and more. Friendships can be boosted by completing missions and sharing gifts. You also get to decorate your own dream space. You can attract new friends to the island with the right furniture pieces.
  • Team Up in Multiplayer – Other players can be invited to your island to help complete multiplayer challenges. Playing with others can boost stamina, aid with solving the island’s trickiest puzzles, chasing new high scores, and even building beautiful vacation homes together. Take note; multiplayer guests can decorate their own Friendship Cabins on your island.
  • NO Microtransactions – This is a big one for me! You can experience everything, including unlocking content, by simply playing the game.

I have seen people playing and enjoying Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It looks like an engaging life sim that allows you to progress at your pace.

With the Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam release on January 30, 2025, I might just check it out for myself. Let’s see.
