Kayou’s mission to create high-quality collectible trading cards for a variety of fandoms continues with the release of the KPop Demon Hunters trading cards.

I was sent the KPop Demon Hunters trading cards mentioned in this article for free to open by Kayou. The opinions I have shared are my own.

As someone who enjoyed covering products from Kayou, I was very excited about the KPop Demon Hunters cards because of the collectible series’ appealing original artwork. I didn’t spoil surprising myself by looking through the entire card list, but I knew I was in for a good time from the couple of images I had viewed.

I was sent five card packs, with three belonging to the KPop Demon Hunters ‘Classic’ Edition line and two of the packs being from the ‘Energy’ Edition line. The ‘Classic’ set was also denoted by the ‘Gold’ classification, while the ‘Energy’ set was the ‘Platinum’ level. The ‘Classic’ pack included 5 cards each, while the ‘Energy’ pack housed 8 cards in each pack.

Another thing of note when it came to the ‘Energy’ Edition set was what you needed to opt for that one if you wanted a chance to pull the Golden SE rarity cards. Each Golden SE card comes serialized by a date on the calendar, from January 1 to December 31, including February 29. So, yeah, if you wanted, you could hunt for the cards that matched your birthday or, if you really wanted to go for it, you could start collecting the entire year!

As for the packaging, the ‘Classic’ Edition featured the HUNTR/X trio in their battle-ready outfits, including weapons. The ‘Energy’ Edition had artwork with the trio in their “How It’s Done” outfits, including their weapons.

The back of each pack detailed the probability rates per box. The ‘Classic’ Edition had 101 types of cards to collect, while the ‘Energy’ Edition included 130 types of cards. Not a big set to complete if you know about how massive some other collectible trading card sets can get.

Here’s my opening/unboxing video for the KPop Demon Hunters trading card packs I received.

Talking about the artwork, I liked the variety of themes each ‘bunch’ followed. The card artwork that had certain characters calling you made me laugh. The addition of a small reflective triangle was a nice touch to make the card feel more like a phone screen. I also liked the artwork that showed the characters in different locations along with their autographs.

I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the card sets included a collection of cardboard tags or charms featuring the cast from the movie.

Also, yay to Kayou’s KPop Demon Hunters trading cards opting to include a whole bunch of original art instead of only reusing stills and other moments from the animated movie.

These cards are such an enjoyable way to celebrate KPop Demon Hunters’ 1-year anniversary, as well as the film making a new record of staying in Netflix’s Top 10 for an entire year.

If interested, you can go ahead and pre-order the KPop Demon Hunters Classic and Energy Edition trading cards from Amazon (Energy Edition and Classic Edition) and other retailers.

You can see the entire Energy Edition set list here, and the Classic Edition set list here.
