Rejoice! Jada Pinkett Smith Returns to ‘Gotham’ as Fish Mooney
It was bound to happen Gotham fans, and it finally did this week. Jada Pinkett Smith returned to the DC-inspired show as the new and improved Fish Mooney. Check out the details!
When news about Jada Pinkett Smith joining Gotham was first released, I was very excited. It is always a good thing to have more POC women in any TV show and that too in major roles. Jada’s character Fish Mooney was dangerous as much as she was cunning. While we saw her fall to her supposed demise during the first season’s finale, there was a doubt in my mind about whether or not she was actually dead. And then Gotham started the Indian Hill arc in season two and former villains began to be resurrected. So, I knew it was only a matter of time we saw Fish again.
I felt bored when Theo Galavan come back to life. However, I didn’t feel the same way when Fish Mooney was brought back to life and that too with all her past memories. She knows who she is and she doesn’t like being placed in a cell by Dr. Hugo Strange. That is why I’m looking forward to what this upgraded Fish Mooney is going to do especially with regards to Penguin, who killed her.
Jada Pinkett Smith is excited about the encounter, too.
“Now I’m this new creature. I think we’ll find out later what she plans to do with the new self she is … I don’t know what Penguin is going to do with her now. I don’t know what anybody’s defense probably is.” (via Zap2it)
There’s only one more episode left until the season two finale, and the writers of Gotham have set things up for what is hopefully going to be a very entertaining conclusion. They even introduced the Court of Owls this week. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
You can see Fish Mooney being brought back to life in this week’s episode of Gotham titled ‘A Legion of Horribles’ which aired on 16th May, 2016.
What did you think of Fish Mooney returning to Gotham? What will happen in the finale? Let us know!
