Before the debut of its fifth season, Fear the Walking Dead was present at WonderCon 2019 to offer some exciting news to fans. The Geekiary was in attendance and we have a lot to share with you!

AMC debuted the season five trailer for Fear the Walking Dead at WonderCon as well gave fans a look at an upcoming TV show titled NOS4A2.

From the trailer, it is clear Daniel Salazer (Ruben Blade) is coming back. He just won’t die. Ha!

Also, Dwight (Austin Amelio) from The Walking Dead is heading to the spin-off.

Here are some of the highlights!

With The Walking Dead experiencing a big time jump, it seems FTWD won’t be set too far in the future. The series picks up with Dwight shortly after Daryl told him to go.

I don’t want to give the exact months but, we can say months,” said Gimple. “It’s actually not a consequential jump because Walking Dead jumped years and years. I’m doing that spoiler. In some ways, I’m doing it to stay sane myself. I get confused sometimes.”

According to Gimple, Dwight might find forgiveness from the crew on FTWD because of their dark pasts.

As for Daniel and Victor, both characters have changed. Get ready for the series to explore Daniel more as a character. The interactions between him and Victor will help viewers understand the development or changes they have gone through and how they realize they have to work together.

The upcoming fifth season is also going to feature a group of children.

Our group is going out into the world to help some people and some of those people they come across may be children,” said Chambliss. “Being a kid in the apocalypse is tough. Being anyone in the apocalypse is tough but when you’re a kid perhaps on your own, you’re facing a lot of challenges that you might not be equipped to and that may put you in a very different sort of place.”

The series is also ready to explore the guilt of killing zombies on a daily basis. Is that really something viewers are interested in seeing, though?

Jenna Elfman gave an amazing answer when asked by our contributor Dan about the importance of having a woman’s narrative in post-apocalyptic content.

The fifth season of FTWD will premiere on AMC on June 2, 2019.
