FEELINGS Daily: We’re finally getting that ALL DUDE Ghostbusters we NEVER ASKED FOR!
Remember when the world rejoiced because Sony decided to do something cool for once by remaking Ghostbusters with an ALL FEMALE CAST! Well, it turns out it was less cool than we thought because while they’re still making the all girl Ghostbusters, it’s going to be one of many films in the new Ghostbusters-universe including an All-DUDE Ghostbusters featuring Channing Tatum! (via The Mary Sue)
Thank goodness for Sony. I thought for a moment they had totally forgotten about the men-folk but luckily the universe has been righted once more and equilibrium has been restored. I mean it’s not like they’ve made a an all male Ghostbusters movie before? Oh wait THEY DID!
And as for you Channing Tatum – yes I am addressing you directly because in my mind we’re bros and you totally read this column – WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Someone find me that .gif from America’s Next Top Model, you know the one where Tyra Banks is yelling: “I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!” You sir, are the albino, alien, winged werewolf of my dreams, why are you signing on to this trash and not making MANY Jupiter Ascending sequels?
Ugh, this is the worst. And I am not the only one that thinks so.
Seriously, tho, a Ghostbusters “cinematic universe”? I’m not sure the original movie had material left over for a cinematic city block. – @poniewozik
Do you think they were already planning this male Ghostbusters movie, or was it really a reaction to all the boys whining on the internet? – @Hello_Tailor
sony….. is making a male ghostbusters reboot……… to compete with the ladies one…. I’m done…… – @derekkira
They’re gonna show the new Ghostbusters movies segregated like in health classes, where one is about your period and one is about boners. – @theames
“Imagine Ghostbusters…. but with men.” “I… don’t have to?” – @DirtyMackem
“Hey what if we made a movie, but there were women in it?”
Men: *loud shrieking sobs increasing in volume and pitch forever* – @kendrawcandraw
Just to prove that all men are not completely terrible, Supernatural’s Osric Chau has posted some live action fan fiction about what would happen if Kevin Tran continued writing the Winchester Gospels. (You know those books that God Chuck was writing). The description says: “Kevin’s alone in the bunker. He’s drunk, he probably needs a shower, and he’s convinced everyone else is getting laid but him. And now he’s got a new problem to deal with.” It’s RAD!
As if those Supernatural boys needed to be any more awesome – okay they need to be pretty awesome to make up for the culture of sexism and racism in their show but we still love them – Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins tweeted a couple of pictures that broke the Internet. It’s true, here’s an actual quote from my fellow Geekiary Girl Erin “Jensen and misha just broke the Internet” (via Twitter). And it’s not hard to see why.
RT @JensenAckles: “enjoying another manly moment on the set of #SupernaturaI pic.twitter.com/BHI5L8N2Da” just one of many, many manly moments.

Check out these reimagined credits for House of Cards: The Sitcom! It’s hilariously offensive and WARNING there are some SPOILERS in there so if you haven’t seen the show maybe skip this vid. (via A.V. Club)
YouTube user JohnnyB2K has put all the Avengers: Age of Ultron footage we have so far into chronological order. It’s super cool but doesn’t tell us anything about what actually happens in Age of Ultron, so if you’re looking for it to unlock some secrets you will be disappointed. It’s worth watching anyway. The second trailer for Disney’s Tomorrowland is here!
Teen Wolf has a winner for the Teen Wolf Creature Feature Contest, which invited fans to create their own monster for the show. The winner is Brooklyn Based Artist Jessica Short! She won with The Sluagh – “according to irish and scottish folklore, the sluagh were the spirits of restless dead, usually depicted as evil people who were not welcoming into heaven or the otherworld (rejected by the celtic deities and by earth itself). The sluagh are troublesome and destructive, and sometimes are known to enter homes to steal the souls of innocents.” Read more about The Slaugh here.

Finally! James Gunn says that Marvel won’t be at San Diego Comic-Con this year and the Internet reacted about as well as you’d expect. The Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer and director told fans in an online Q&A that since Marvel would not be in attendance this year, he probably wouldn’t either.

I’m not going to lie, as this year will be my first San Diego Comic-Con I’m a little bummed but it’s not totally surprising. Marvel doesn’t really need to compete with everyone else at SDCC, as it proved with last year’s Marvel Event! They can do what they want now, which makes the fact that they have not yet made Black Widow movie even more upsetting. WHY DON’T WE HAVE A BLACK WIDOW MOVIE YET?

Ugh… how about we just stop remakes altogether, before we trigger the apocalypse with our worldwide groan of dissapoint?
Also: LUCY LAWLESS!!!! I love everything now. Even sea urchins.
Still trying to imagine a reason for the Dudebusters thing that isn’t ‘oh gosh, look all the poor boys crying over female Ghostbusters, we must comfort them! THINK OF THE BOYS!’ *sigh*
Female remake of an all-male family movie gets made: Hailed as awesome, fans are told to shut up and called Misogynists.
Male movie slated to come out after the remake: Totally justified in screaming at how bad this is, and how women can’t have anything for themselves. Because apparently ignoring the series as all men and then taking that series… isn’t the same? And an all female remake is still being made?
Really not understanding the difference here except for a reason to complain.
“Isn’t it the same?” Not at all. Women as protagonists, especially groups of women, are very rare. Having a classic movie help add to this under represented group is worth celebrating. People complaining about it do come off as misogynistic because it’s ignoring how women are historically shut out as leads or as being with groups of other women for reasons other than supporting a man (see: Bechdel Test). So it’s not at al the same.
I hope I helped you understand.
