Featuring exciting gameplay which allows you to roam around as a ghost and possess other people, Rogue Spirit will be published worldwide by 505 Games. An Early Access release is planned for August of this year.
Rogue Spirit has been described as an anime-inspired action-adventure game. Developed by Wrocław, Poland based studio Kids With Sticks, the game is currently available for you to Wishlist on Steam for PC. Wishlisting lets you be the first to receive information on the forthcoming playable demo debuting on June 9, 2021.
In this single-player title, you will be put into the ghostly shoes of the former Prince of Midra. You will need to possess enemy characters and absorb their skills to free the land from evil. This game has been inspired by Japanese and Southeast Asian cultures along with popular anime tropes.
Here’s the trailer for this 3D rogue-lite action title that also has some light stealth elements.
I like how, as a spirit, you can easily pass through solid objects and then immediately give yourself a physical form to fight enemies. The action looks smooth and I do like the vibrant colors.
“We are excited to work with such an experienced publisher. Thanks to 505 Games we were able to establish the Kids With Sticks initiative and focus all of our powers on developing Rogue Spirit. We hope to bring freshness to the rogue-like genre with an interesting core mechanic of possessing enemies and being able to absorb their skills,” said Andrzej Koloska, Co-Owner at Kids With Sticks.
The team is looking forward to growing the game alongside community feedback after the Early Access launch in August. The title is supposed to develop to feature 20 playable characters with different abilities, weapons, and their own playstyles, as well as 10 procedurally-generated levels set within 5 different biomes.
