‘The Walking Dead’ To Introduce King Ezekiel in Season Seven

 King Exekiel The Walking Dead

While fans of The Walking Dead TV series are still coping with the events that transpired during the season six finale, AMC is busy prepping things for the upcoming season seven. The network has released a casting call for an important African-American comic book character, Ezekiel.

According to TVLine, a casting call has been issued for a male recurring role named Augustus. The details of the casting call seem to resemble a famous zombie-apocalypse survivor from the comic books by Robert Kirkman on which the TV show is based on. If you have read the comic books you would be familiar with the name Ezekiel. In the story he is the self-proclaimed king of The Kingdom. He is described as an “eccentric, affable, and somewhat flamboyant old man.” Not only that, he also has a pet tiger named Shiva. Now that would be very interesting to see onscreen when the show returns this year! Will they use a real tiger, CG, or scrap her entirely?

I’m not sure how many things will be changed in the small screen adaptation once season seven rolls out but as far as the comic book lore is concerned, Ezekiel is a friend of The Hilltop Colony. He also hates Negan and his Saviors. Ezekiel and Michonne are also romantic interests for each other but with Richonne being a thing I don’t think the writers will go in that direction and risk fan anger. Leave Richonne be!

We don’t know who Negan killed in the finale but his/her death is quite likely going to be a major reason behind Rick joining hands with Ezekiel and going after Negan.

Let’s see who The Walking Dead ends up casting in the role of Ezekiel.
