The fan-funded action-RPG title Underworld Ascendant has launched on Steam. The game is from OtherSide Entertainment, co-founded by “legendary game designers” Paul Neurath (Ultima Underworld, Thief) and Warren Spector (System Shock 3, Deus Ex, Epic Mickey), in partnership with publisher 505 Games. There are three in-game items available right now!
You should consider purchasing Underworld Ascendant from Steam for PC if you wish to receive three limited-time in-game bonus items to aid in your journey through the Stygian Abyss before time runs out.
The items will be available if you buy the game through November 21, 2018. As of writing this, the title will cost you only $8.91 USD.
The three items are:
- Vorpa: A companion creature that appears mild-mannered, but will launch itself at nearby enemies who are at extremely low health.
- Mana Leech: A companion creature that absorbs Mana throughout the world, “firing” its reserves at the player when Mana is low.
- Map of The Stygian Abyss: A digital map of the iconic Stygian Abyss to aid players in their explorations of its fathoms.

Written and directed by Joe Fielder (Bioshock Infinite), Underworld Ascendant “takes players back in time to the genesis of role-playing games as they assume the role of ‘The Ascendant,’ summoned to the legendary Stygian Abyss by a mysterious figure called Cabirus. There, they learn of the beast Typhon, a threat to both their worlds, who can only be stopped by the player. To defeat Typhon, players must overcome challenges, uncover lost secrets and gain favor with factions to maximize knowledge and strength.”
Underworld Ascendant boasts “robust player-authored gameplay” which “encourages and rewards experimentation within a constantly evolving environment that reacts dynamically to player choices.” Each decision by the player holds “the potential for great opportunity or grave consequences.”
You can mix and match dozens of combat, stealth and magic skills to develop a unique style of play and devise clever plans to overcome challenges as you navigate the foreboding Stygian Abyss.
